1303 weight, fun with corner scales!
So my roommate has had a corner scale rig for a while and today I finally got my bugs weighed and did a couple of tests while I was at it.
First up was my daily driver, Mojo, with everything you would usually have, a half tank of gas, and the extra weight of a loud stereo. Base weight: 2025lbs. Weight with me in it: 2250lbs. LF: 488 RF: 437 LR: 691 RR: 633 Front: 925 41.1% Left: 1179 52.4% Cross: 1128 50.2% As an experiment I wanted to see what happens when a passenger rides with me and the effect it has on weight distribution. So I had my roommate hop in and took down the info. It's interesting to see how it affects the overall balance, but I thought the forward bias would be higher. Weight with driver and passenger: 2393lbs. LF: 515 RF: 482 LR: 704 RR: 692 Front: 997 41.7% Left: 1219 50.9% Cross: 1186 49.6% Next up was the race car Lucy, half stripped interior, no spare or jack, full tank, porsche running gear, and wider fenders. Base weight: 1858lbs. Weight with me in it: 2080lbs. LF: 440 RF: 421 LR: 655 RR: 564 Front: 861 41.4% Left: 1095 52.6% Cross: 1076 51.7% Since I needed to get an accurate base stock weight (without stereo stuff, etc. from the daily) I grabbed everything I had taken out and piled it in and on the car to get a reading. Kind of funny to watch but I got what I needed and a final reading of 1931lbs. If you're in the bay area, want a fun drive and a cheap weigh PM me and I can setup a time. My roommate is charging $50 a weigh right now and might be offering discounts in the future. Compared to some shop rates I've seen ($75-$90/hr. 2hr minimum) this is a steal. |

Pretty cool setup.
I remember going through the same procedure setting up my 125cc shifter kart. Interesting to note the greater rear weight bias with the passenger. Sandeep |

Sounds like your having a lot of fun!!! I'd take you up on your offer, I just don't know what to do with the numbers once I get them. I'll be heading to Huffaker Engineering at Infineon in April, and I'm sure he'll be charging more than $50, but they'll also know what to do next!
