944 trailing arms

Has anyone tried put the trailing arms off a porsche 944 onto a beetle? I heard it fits and it drops the rear too? Does it bolt right up, what year do I need?

No problem

Swap out the mounting bushing for the beetle version and they bolt right up.

I'm referring to the steel arms by the way. I believe the aluminum arms work the same way with the exception of widening the track.

I believe the steel 944 arms are the same as the Beetle with the exception of a camber adjustment on the 944. If so, IMHO, it wouldn't be worth it. The alum. are lighter, yes, but you will widen the track, as said above.

The above posts are correct. Also remember the spring plate will have to be changed also.
