Silly thread but if you had the money???

What engine would you have built for your bug if you had enough money to say... "just build it!"

And would you stay with VW power??? I mean... VW, not porsche, not wasserboxer.... Good old Aircooled power!

I'd have a 2276cc T1 with 48IDA's, 30hp tinwear, old skool type of thing on the outside but real trick inside with huge headwork on stock castings, high comp ratio so it'd be running on 98 Oct or more... a screamer

What would you choose?

Don't blame me for not knowing the specific technical measurments of cilinderheads, etc.

I would make a 2,7 or a 2,9 L enigne.. ... with trottlebodys.. digital egnition.. G-loader and maybe some kind of turbo... I like the sound of the dumpvalve

But yeah i dont have the money (and not yet the technical nolegh) soo this would be a verry verry verry far future plan..

Greetings Wiebrand

Turbo charged, Fuel Injected, Intercooled 2.6L T4 with Nickies

Everything that could be cryoed or ceramic coated would be.

Hmmm. Money (and time) no object.

Late model 1303, porsche bits all around (suspension/brakes) Power steering, Traction control and ABS, mid engined porsche flat 6 (from a 911 turbo) mated to a 6 speed box with paddle shifting....

Could REALLY confuse people at shows with the bonnet AND boot open, no engine visible

Cya,
Sam C

If money was no object, I'd would build something along the lines of that GL bus that was posted a while ago, but using a bug.

Late model porsche turbo engine, brakes, etc....

Come to think of it, just buy a Porsche and slap a Bug body on it.....

Rob.

Mike said "not Porsche".

If it has to be Type 1, mine will be 94mm p/c (nickies), 84mm flanged crank, radical ported S/E or S/F heads, web cam 86C?, 13:1 c.r., EFI with electromotive engine management and distributorless ignition, dry sump. Can I use Porsche fan?

Turbo T4, 2.6L or above displacement, digital FI, all kinds of high tech bits in there like titanium and what have you.

Tube chassis, coil overs at all 4 corners, 993 turbo brakes, Quaife 6-speed gearbox. Or, to take a page from good ol' Superman's dream book, Vanagon synchro drivetrain.

All crammed into a Super beetle.

My dream engine would be a T4 (82mm x 102mm nickies = 2680cc) with funding to get me a set of prototype 'Porkies' with highest porting level. Titanium and 'Unobtanium' internals for sure ! . Electronic EFI would be in the mix too.

And I would hook this up to a 6 speed sequential Hewland gearbox.

Now let me check those lottery #'s again :hehehe:
