turbo the 1500 cc?

me and my buddy are in the process of restoring a 69 beetle. it has a brand new 1500cc engine in it. i was wondering if there is a way to turbo or supercharge this engine? i am willing to learn how because this car is soo easy to work on. thank you guys

Putting a turbo on a 1500 single port is not a common mod that you see or hear about everyday. You could try http://lowbugget.com/turbo_bug_kit.html. They offer a good kit for the 1600 cc motor maybe you could ask them to see about addapting the kit to 1500c c

yes there is a guy who is doing it over on the cal-look forums and i think hes pulling like 14sec 1/4's but i would suggest putting a new crank in it so you dont sling rods and stuff
