what trans for my subie swap?

hi iam collecting parts to do my ej swap in my bug. i have an ej25 out of an 06 wrx. it has 225hp so iam wondering what trans should i use for the swap. iam kinda trying to budget the build so i cant afford a g50 haha. i priced a pro drag from rancho and it is going to be $2500. i am just curious if there is another trans out there that will handle the abuse and power iam going to throw at it that will cost a little less than the rancho unit? thanks in advance

Kyle

Im not sure what it would work out to be $$$ wise in the US but im building an 091 based box, for a few reasons,
i dont have to cut the torsion housing, this was a BIG thing for myself, it was where i drew the line for mods
bolts in fairly factory like, using the intermediate housing from LanD in canada
the bellhousing kit from RJES in the uk makes it look & work like is supposed to be there
There IS good diff's available for the 091 these days, Peloquin is the way im going
really the only drawback is the limit of 4 gears, but with decent ratio choice its not a terrible thing
Theres not much point putting figures up since the exchange rate changes alot but look into those people ive mentioned
also using albins gears(the aussie equivalent of weddle etc i believe)
Mind you then you have to factor in output shafts, axles, cv's....

You could probably get a G50 off ebay.de for that kind of money and be done with it...

Well, they don't grow on trees here either you know...
A 930 with a LSD went for just 2300 euros the other day
Hurry costs, but really strong trannies are gonna cost you no matter what. You can also try a lesser one and blow that to bits and pay the price afterwards. That route seems more popular for some strange reason

Has anyone looked at this: http://www.quaife.co.uk/QUAIFE-61G-6...tial-Transaxle
It looks like a nice short unit. Obviously, for a all out big budget build it ought to be quite attractive. Now which racer is breaking his Porsche Cup car?????
