Super Wheel Cylinders in Rear Drums

I've heard that you can put the larger bore SuperBeetle front wheel cylinders onto the backing plates of stock rear brakes to make them perform better. I would like to know if there's any truth to this and if so, what is necessary?

On a completely different subject has anyone experience redrilling rear Type III drum hubs for aftermarket patterns?

Thanks, Chris

I don't know of anyone who has done that, the few Super owners that I know that upgraded the rear drums went with Type III parts.
