Fuel Injection Parts

I've been helping Sandeep out with his fuel injection conversion, and some of the bits can be reproduced for all. These are the fuel rails and injector bosses for the 2L T4 manifolds.

Cool!
But does that mean that those ring 'bung' thingy's still need to be welded into the original manifold ?

How is the fuel rail fixated to the manifold? The original way obviously cannot be used anymore ?

Thanks in advance,
Walter

Sweet work as always Lanner

I'm still working on mounting the rail to the manifold but should not be any problems as I have some ideas. To fit these into a beetle engine bay WILL require modifications to the side "shelf" panels but I will make these mods hopefully so it looks like it could have come from the factory like this

I'll post a pic of the completed manifolds when I have them done.

Next step after the manifolds is to fit the turbo, and then wire in the Megasquirt

The injector bosses are meant to be welded in. You could epoxy them in if you wish, they are long enough that you can get a sufficient bead of eposy all the way around. They are piloted to they will maintain the proper center-to-center distance to match the fuel rail.

As for the hold down it's left to the purchaser. With the 914 FI manifolds, it's easy enough.

I'm confused. T4 manifolds already have injector bosses. Are these for inserting into carbureted manifolds?

These bosses are for installing modern injectors into the stock T4 manifolds. If you try to fit a modern injector, You'll see the problem and why you need these.
