VKG stuff

Sorry I disappeared on you guys for a while. The week after Euro, my brother passed away unexpectedly and then the holidays spun up right after. Getting back to the world as we know it now.

As info, I just found a function on here that told me someone was trying to join the VKG social page on this site. I have added him. His profile says he is in the ATL. Head over and welcome him.

What are your plans for the year? I would like to hit some of the early shows this year. Hoping to do Dyno Day and the car show after, GT car show and would like to do the new big one in Daytona, but am not looking for the kind with really long drives. We'll see on that one.

It would be good to have a VKG get-together as well. The summer is the deadspot for shows, but vacations get in the way too. Any thoughts? I'm happy to host or I am sure we can find some other spot as well.

We are going to have a VKG GTG 20 min. south of Playa Del Carmen Mexico at the OCC Grand Xcaret resort, June 25th thru July 2nd. Should be a great time. Nigel, Danny, are in. Workin' on Laz also Speedy and Hellen may pop over from the UK to join us.
The BK bailed on the Dyno Day last year. Don't know if they will ever do another one. They will be doing the show at AMS again this June.

You're on your own with Mexico. I'll have nothing to do with the place. I grew up in the middle of the drug wars of Miami back in the day...done with that. Not to mention my political stance with the place. They won't get my money.

Maybe we can do something a little closer to home that the non-ATL VKG guys can join in on.

First, zen, my condolences to you and your family.

What is the VKG social page? The old, separate site is defunct still, isn't it? Last time I checked there, I saw a bunch of Japanese kanji, but that was a good while ago. I'm sorry I'm behind the times on all of this.

I'm not real keen on Mexico, either, although there was a Brasilia for sale there that almost sucked me in. It was sold before I got to the final stage of arranging a rendezvous. I have, however, made a resolution of sorts to being more social this year regardless of my state of, umm, dubbiness.

The AMS show in June would be a good event to gather at. The GT show is another we could do something with. There is always Bug-A-Paluza.
As far as the Mexico trip. Not trying to change your mind and i see your point. But we aren't going to or thru Juarez, Tijuana or Meico City. The Yucatan is sort out of the way on the trade rout map. This will be our 6th trip there in 3 years. A guy that works for me (from Spain) and his wife are going to be there and Chico is making plans to go with his girlfriend. That is 3-4 people with us who speak Spanish (not that that is needed in the resort).

Sorry to hear of your brother Zen. im going to have to tap out on the mexico trip. we are going to the bahamas for 2 weeks on july 2nd. thats one of the things that stinks about working at the phone factory, i have to pick my vacation in october and november. Zen, how is your wife's recovery coming along? as for me i'm still not ready to do 26.2 yet but i am beginning to think getting back to work was not a bad thing. my knee feels a lot stronger and my balance is much better as well.

The Y U Buggin show at AMS will be June 3rd (Fri) and 4th (Sat) with a possible cruise on the 5th (Sun). Or we could do a VKG thing on the 5th. The last Y U Buggin was very cool.
Bug-A-Paluza will be April 15th - 17th. Always a good show and in Danny's back yard.
Kathy has organized another Dyno Day in Warner Robins to go with the Silver Dollar Showdown March 12 and 13th.
The Georgia Tech Auto Show will be April 2nd. That would be a good local show and we could do something along with it.
I had a blast at the Euro Auto Fest and GTG at Laz's place.
These are the events that will be high on my list. I will have to see how they all fit with my work schedule.

Those shows all sound great to me except I will probably not do Silver Dollar. Putting them all on my calendar.

Back to needing to do work on my car though. My brand new battery is dead again...and that is with the ground disconnected. I guess I am back to just gutting the wiring on this thing and starting from scratch. This weekend is looking good to start trying to sort things back out on it first though and getting some spring driving in.
