Lee...

What seats are going on that pan?

I have the later mounts too but I'm worried that it will mean a seat (bucket/porkie/or similar) will be too high. I'm considering removing the "hump" and welding in a couple of crossbars to bolt a seat runner to.

thx.

Thx Lee.

My brother used 924 seats on 3-point bases and had to cut'n'shut a lot to mount them low enough. I guess a bucket is a bit easier (bolts to the side on yours?)

I'd appreciate a photo of the adapted bases/runners if you have one.

cheers.

I made up some ally plates that bolt to the seat and then bolted them to the 03 runner ,simples.you could always cut and shut the runners so they sit lower ?

Cant wait to see this thing finished, sort of squeemish cutting up the split, but the results will be amazing I'm sure.

We hav'nt cut any thing yet, just unpicked the factory spot welds on the front valance and the spare wheel well and they will go back in after the front is finished, also only moved the rear body to shock tower mounts, so its hardly been touched for the match up.Like i said this shell was modified years ago by the Scandinavian drag racer, hardly an og split bug ,any way who cares what year they are, I,am only interested in modifying vws, stockers are for buffers.

I really like your projects so far, very well done and with your own individual touch. However, I think the split will be the best one.The 03 floorpan with the shorter wheelbase is something I had always thought about.I don't have the fab skills to make it happen though.Good luck and I'm really looking forward to following your updates!

Cheers , just fabbing the cage mounts, waiting for the Cromo/t45 steel to turn up and then its all go on the cage and front end strut mounts, going to be using our slimline L.A.P struts and a new product we are bringing out, cro-mo bottom drop arms with rose joint/uniball inner mounts off the pan, might make some shorter ones for this car so we can get FAT porsche wheels and rubber under the front end.

Cage boxes under construction.......
