STI engine installation anyone?
I am slowly installing my STi in my Manx and hope to see it finished in a few weeks. I am just wondering if anyone else is going through the same painfull process now?
Thanks, Randy

I currently have my EJ20T mounted in the car. I have the radiator mounted in my Ghia, I also have the water lines run front to back.
I have left to run the rubber lines for the radiator, finish running the fuel lines, mount the computer and wire the engine, tidy up the engine, remount the intake(reversed), weld my reversed water manifold... the list goes on. Those are Just to get the engine running with coolant. Since I'm doing a complete restoration of this Ghia, I'm far from having everything else lined up but that's another long list.

SuperRSI,
What is your plan for the radiator? I'm working on a Manx clone (berrien body) with a EJ22T out back. It sounds like we are working on similar projects, mine will have 17" 993 wheels, 993 front brakes, 944T rears with alum. arms, etc. I have a berrien tube frame sitting in the garage, waiting on the body to take mesurments for the radiator. I had the motor and 091 tranny in a '73 Super for a couple of years, I can't wait to see how it feels in a much lighter car! I would love to see some pics of your project. ~Josh |

hey all, I can chime in too...I'm running a 1.8L NA scooby motor in the back of a Porsche 912.
I live up the street from zen, and have been a little inspiration for him...LOL!!! I run my rad in back, and run a 964 decklid to help scoop air into the rear. sjd |

I have recently ordered from Griffin a modified for AN fittings Jeep Cherokee aluminum radiator. I will be running Mecca coolant which is propolene glycol that raises the boiling point to 340 without being a pressurized system. I will post pictures as I get it installed. My progress is slow now as I am real busy.
Thanks, Randy

You can read about it on www.evanscooling.com
I have been using it in 454 powered wind machines for about ten years now. This coolant allows a smaller radiator or just a better margin of safety when the weather gets hot. With the wind machines we get heat soak as they run hard and then because of noise get shut down. While running we needed to get all the heat we could out of the coolant. Mecca/Evans works. Thanks, Randy

After taking a tape measure to mine, I can't see fitting anyting much bigger than a civic radiator up front (aprox. 14.5" X 17.5"). Which is where I would really like to put mine... I'm hoping that since there are guys driving around with Civics making a lot more power than I will be, a good after market Civic radiator + good airflow will keep me cool... |
