63 bug subaru powered

Hey guys new here

I'm from boulder colorado heres my bug.

Started with a rusty but more or less solid stock 63 bug

The previous owner had blown up an engine and decided to do a 12volt conversion and put a late stock 1600 dualport in.

well they did a pretty good job with all the wiring and getting the engine in and running. when I came to look at it the guy said it needed a clutch because it wouldnt work. so I bought it for $300 bucks. borrowed a friends tow bar and got it home.

well the clutch just wouldnt disengage. no matter how much you adjusted it.

so we pulled the engine and they had left the late pressure plate on the engine. all that had to be done was put an early pressure plate on it so it would work with the stock swingaxle.

so put a early pressure plate on it. added a electronic 009 and started driving it.

I added some gauges

The tired dualport kinda sucked so I wanted something different.

the main reason I did this was to get hot water for a real heater core inside.
these engines are knockoff vw design I swear.

I would have sold you my BN2 Eberspacher and saved you a bunch of time / energy and money.

Your way is cooler though!
