1915 gearing ?

hello all i have run into a problem with my tranny. i have a stock irs 1303 tranny i want to change 3rd and 4th gear to better suit the speed that my engine can give me.my problem is i know nothing abought gearing so could you suggest a good ratio to go with the stock mainsaft (1st,2nd gear).it also needs to be compatable with a stock new 1600 dp.

I think that the 3.88 final drive gear is pretty popular. As for changing the ratio you are running between 3rd and 4th I am not sure what ratios you would need to change to. Another thing to consider is what wheel size you have on your car as this changes drive ratios also. It slips my mind which direction your ratio goes as you increase/decrease wheel/tire diameter, sorry.

how do i change the final drive and im running 17x7 tires the rims re 15x7s thanks

There is no way you can improve upon the stock gearing when you are using a stock engine.
