Question where to start

where is the best place to start?

i have a strong 1600 dp already in so i dont wanna mess with it right now unless its carburators.

so should i do suspension, brakes/ wheels, or body parts first?

Most likely you'll want to start on the body first. Get it straight, rust free, and painted.

Next, go with what will improve the car's every day drive-ability. Suspension, brakes etc.

Last, go with the engine. Unless you are doing a 5 speed conversion, this should be a good progression.

With that said, start with a good plan you will stick with. The plan is the most important part of it all.

what are you doing with the car? is it a daily driver? weekend warrior? somewhere in between? total project or something you need to drive on week days?

what is your budget?

what timeline are you looking at?

Haaa you'll be lucky

I don't think theres anyone on here who hasn't thought... well maybe I will go for the slightly larger engine or well if I'm going to the trouble of putting discs all around then I may aswell fit the biggest I can within my budget....

I personally think if you try and stick to your original plan 100% then you could loose interest if it's a long term project....

Have the basic concept in your head and work with it as you go along..just my 2c worth anyway.

True, but I am trying. Especially since I'm dealing with a tight budget. But I have modified the original plan a bit.

I am running into that exact issue with the engine. I just can't make up my mind!!!

I meant plan as in do you want a "Cal-look" car or a "GL" car, you'll need to look for certain parts and make certain mods. You don't want to get the car painted and then decide you want to shave the trim.
