944 front disks
Hi guys, im new to the forum-its nice in here
iv been looking for info on fitting some 944s (thats the turbo right?) front disks and calipers on my '72 standard beetle...searching the forum has left me a bit confused, so i was wondering if someone could giv me a clear list of what i will need to aquire/make. Thanks Andy |

The 944 S has the same type brakes as the regular 944. The 944 S2 has the 944 Turbo type brakes.
Look at the tech articles on this site for install info. |

If I remember correctly Sandeep has post a very good detailed installtion atricle ?
968 has same brakes too (4 piston Brembo)...

Yea the 968 has the same brakes as the early 944 Turbo and 944 S2 but the late 944 Turbo (89-91), 944 Turbo S (88) and 968 Turbo S have even bigger brakes.
Then there are all the 986/911/964/etc. brakes but Jim can tell about those. Oh yea, and the 928 generally used the same brakes as the 944. |

sorry to steal the thread
BUT do front 944 turbo brakes increase the track on the front of a standard bug??? was looking on ricolas site and he says no, but just wanted confirmation. cheers Adam |

It depends on how you machine the hub to fit on the spindle. In my article, I didn't machine the hub and the track increase per side with stock spindles is about 10mm.
