Hahaha. Yup.
Release was working, installed the pin, was testing it and all worked fine. Decided I wanted it just a touch tighter, and that was it. No amount of shaking, pushing or swearing would get the thing open. Thank GOODNESS my Bentley was now locked in the trunk so instead of cutting the handle I had to surf for the diagram. Joel, had posted about the access panel at the bottom of the trunk being an option. 30 seconds later, I was into the hood area, and removed the pin from the handle...conveniently using the 13mm wrench which was already in the trunk :P -Dave

I'm betting your spare tyre wasn't in the way.
It was a test of patience with the spare tyre still in, with a jack, deck chair and other crap sitting on top. And as if that wasn't enough same car had the decklid latch locked and the key key lost. It had a fresh new paint job that was a 1 off custom mixed colour that I didn't want to scratch either. Many a swear word was yelled that day....

haha, yeah. No spare tire in the trunk. Just had some tools, the Bentley, trouble light (conveniently) and a lot of bad luck :P
