anyone have any pix of the kamie front air dam, or any other front air dam on a bug?

I'm trying to decide what to do with the front of my car, but I can only really think of 2 options, and thats a bumper cover or replacement (like j-sports) or a kamie front air dam. Please post some pix here so I can start a little pic archive and help me decide which one looks better for my future german looker!

thanx

Originally I was running a Kamei airdam, bought from Kamei in the UK (they have dealers worldwide, I believe that Aircooled.net is a dealer!)
New Carbon Fibre one was from LA Performance in the uk (www.germanlook.co.uk)

Hi all- long time lurker, first time registered and posted.

I picked up a front and rear bumper cover from memoimports. It appears to be of good quality and was reasonably priced.

Rear: http://www.memoimports.com/car.JPG

They are going on my car:

edit... old pic of my car... its a bit further along now.

That's a nice looking bumper cover, but I did not see it listed at their Web site -- only the picture of it when advertising lights.

And it still curves to under the car, allowing all that air to get pushed under the car...

The kamei airdam has a curve to it, and pushes the air out sideways. Makes quite a difference to how the car feels at higher speeds.

After seeing it online I wrote and asked about it. They replied promptly. I don't remember the cost-- it took a while to get it, but the quality seems quite good. I should have it painted in the next couple of months and be ready to install.

Am I missing something when looking at the pics? Why couldn't a Kamei-style spoiler be used with that style of bumper cover? Where does a Kamei-style spoiler mount?

Oh, so you need the euro bumper for it to work?

is it possible for that air dam to work without the bumper? i want the T-bar look on the front instead of a bumper but i like the air dam! does it only come in a carbon fibre look? thanks!

NEED the bumpers... The airdam is C shape, and mounts to the bottom lip at the front of the bumpers.

You COULD make it work with cutting/fibreglass.... But thats true for anything

The carbon one I have isnt from kamei, its made by LA Performance in the UK... Kamei ones are made from abs plastic (I think) which makes them very tolerant to impacts.

SAm C
