Try partsheaven as well, i used them for some of the porsche shifter parts i needed.

I paid about $300 for my complete rear suspension but that included torsion bars, spring plates, aluminum torsion tube end caps, trailing arms with new discs and axles.

Hi Alex, I just did the conversion with MBT's monoball setup. I used the 86Turbo cv and axle shaft with the 181 flange at the gear box. The setup with the torque bar setup is good. Its like running on rails!

They are showing that these axle assemblies are the same.
Manual transmission only.
1. 1985 1/2 - 1987 (944 and 944S)
2. 1987-1988 (924s)
3. 1986 (944 turbo)

1987 and later turbo axles use a differant spline pattern than VW so you would have to use only porsche cv's. Hope this helps. If you need any more specific measurements let me know.
genius, what about axles from an '88 944NA? seems outside of what you have above. i am mostly interested in the ight length. i will switch to Porsche CVs if i need to. i have to check if these are the wide arms too.

I don't really know if they would be the same. The differance in years might be as simple as a different spline length or something like that. If you find a set for sale just ask the seller to count the spines and measure the length. if they are the same as the earlier ones they should work.

looks like these are 19" axles.

can still use his arms, but now i have to look at hubs and disks again and make sure i have something that can work with my 951 calipers on late arms.

I used the 944t axles on the 86 944turbo trailing arm fits just right. Cheers.

well i can confirm that '87 944S axles are 25 splines and not interchangeable with VW CVs.

silverbullet, i just came back to this post and saw you had info i am requesting in a different one (i am way to scrambled at the moment ). looks like you have the info i am looking for with the T181 outputs, porsche axles and ali arms. follow-up though:

are the axles 21" (measure CV mounting surface on the output flange to the stub axle)?

Hi Zen,

I just came back with the measurements under the car, I can't exactly measure the axles accurately but with the measuring tape, yes its about 21'' from output flange to stub axle. Hope it helps The car has been on the road for about a month plus and everythings seems alright. I'm happy

exactly what i was looking for. there was just concern over the added length of the T181 CV. sounds like it is a non-issue.
