Type IV bus to beetle...tins?
I bought a typeIV core out of a bus. Do I need to save any of this tinware? Engine won't be built up until next summer, don't want to store stuff I don't need. There is a parts swap tomorrow that I could take the tins to.

I'm sure you have probably told me already but what cooling system layout are you thinking of running?
When I was fitting a type4 to my bug I was going for the upright type1 style. There are kits out there made of fibreglass but you can weld together some type4 tins to make type1 style, so it's worth holding onto them if thats the direction you're planning on going.

Haven't gotten that far yet. I wasn't even thinking T4 for the next project, but then a complete motor came up for $100. If I ever build it up, I'm probably going to go with a Porsche-style shroud. I know they don't cool as well, but it would be fantastic at the gas station where everybody and their uncle takes the time to tell me how they had a beetle "back in the day" but theirs had a Porsche motor installed ;-)
