aluminium...

is aluminum strong enough to use as the gearbox mount bit between the ends of the forks? like say 3mm ish thick angle? it seems to be but i cant reproduce the potential stress on it at this point so just wanting to know before i commit to making a mount out of it cheers people

I don't remember where I found this pic, but it was from a supplier in Germany.

Here's an Al front intermediate mount I made last year. Been on my car for over 5k miles.

It's used as structural members in aircraft. That works for me
