Anyone ever try to retrofit a 911 turbo wing on the back of a beetle's deck lid?

I just think that it would look pretty sick, or atleast it does in my mind, if anyone has any pictures of one already done, that would be great.

Food for thought

Well, called today to the guy who is selling this wing, and got the dimensions, looks like I have a guy to retrofit it on with fiberglass, should be fun trying to get it to work. 3" wider fenders came today, WOO HOO Makes the car look SOO damn wide in the rear, better fill those fenders with 9" wheels, or larger!

Wish someone did this before, so I can get an idea of what it should look like,,,

Did you ever think about the rear wing off of the new beetle cup cars. It looks like it would fit alot easier. Just a thought. I am trying to find a place that sells them or at least replicas...

Wings and things

Hello

My father grafted the porsche wing on to a beetle about 20 years ago and has just finished a new one now witch is the gt2 style one, they are awsome with the widened guards.

Check these links:

Thats awesome, i've seen 3 out of 4 of those pix already, looks sick. BUT, I live in the states, and shipping from aus land would be more than what I can afford. That pic that I put up is a wing that a guy is selling for $250, and I just went to my body guy today, and he said he can make it fit to the wing.

On another note, i'm putting a G60 engine in the back of my bug, and the engine sticks out ALOT!

That pic is a few weeks old, and I have the pullys on there now, which sticke the whole assy out another 3-6 inches. The contour of the stock decklid has to be cut away (I'll post that pic later) to fit the monster in there, so a custom job has to be doen anyways around the supercharger's pully. Its a messy freaking job, let me tell you......

The origional idea actually, was to get the 911 look decklid (The black one on the blue bug) and cut out a section, fit the charger and stuff, and then fiberglass it up and maybe make a hump or something on the other side to make it look even. Now that i've actually seen how much we have to work with (Not alot at all) This whole endever looks pretty complicated...

(Maybe I should have stuck wiith an aircooled engine) :-(
