vented and drilled

i am in the middle of conversion to 944T brakes. i will be running Carrera rotors up front and 944T in the rear. the used rear rotors i have are worn to 21mm. the manual says 22.6 is the limit. so new rotors it is .

so to the question...any issue with running drilled in the back when the front are only vented? i eventually want to be drilled all the way around, but might as well make use of the new 911 rotors in the front.

of course depending on cost, i may just go vented in the rear anyway.

I don't think there would be a problem since the drilling is ony a way to keep the rotors from overheating during hard use. Besides the brakes were designed for a car that weighed alot more than your car so I don't think you will have to worry about brake fade. I would just put the rotors on for now and if find that you are driving past the limits of the brakes then you could always pull them off later and have them drilled. Just put them on and drive your car.....

well the rotors i have are shot, so that's not an option. i have only shopped a little, but drilled ones are only $5 more. so may go that direction if i have to by new.

Your rear rotors are shot? Right?
Replace them with drilled rotors and leave the front non drilled untill later.

well decided to go vented only afterall. since the fronts are pretty much brand new, it will be a while before i can eat through those. might as well match 'em all the way around. saved me a couple of bucks too.

as info, vertex auto in miami had them for $65 each (price in the Feb Excellence mag). nice guys too.
