New German Look Build

Hello everyone

So I have decided to emabark in another build I have recently completed a '58 bus build German Look style and need something to do over the winter months. This build will have several different influences a little German Look (IRS suspension, brakes and a type 4 motor) this will be the simple basis of my beetle but with a vintage race car theme. I have hopes of getting it to the track and having some fun
The car was super solid with only a little rust repair needed. I will install a two fold rag top and semaphores. I will update the build as I progress.....

Anyone have any suspension ideas??

Chris, I am still working on the final details. As I begin to mock the pan up this will help me decide on wheels. To be honest it will not be your conventional German Look or satndard lowered resto. This ride will be totally off da wall in a tasteful way. I am hoping to have the body in paint before the holidays then it is working on the pan

I must say that it was difficult to scrub off the OG paint that was on this car It would have looked pretty cool with real patina

Nice to see you on here Creig!
Pete is on here a lot as well. Chug lives by us and was in SC at Scott's event in July. The guy who is responsible for this site lives here, and tries to make the monthly meetings we have in Oakville.
Look forward to following your build. I personally have a '73 vert I am gathering parts for, for my German Look build for my wife.

Thanks Greg
Looking forward to getting this build rolling. I have a long way to go and as you know the boys are constantly pushing I will get a lot done over the next few days as for the long weekend. I am going to be away for a few weeks in December so unfortunate time restraints.

What are your plans for the wife's build??

Bus is here
http://www.kustomcoachwerks.com/foru...pic.php?t=3395

Creig lives not too far from KCW in Colorado.

My plans for the vert are, as per her wishes, white Scat interior with pink piping, Porsche raspberry paint (new style metallic), 17" twists, Type 4 motor. Not a full out, body off, although the body is coming off for the new pans. Won't be rolling on that project for a couple years yet. Already have her personalized plates though- "HER VERT"

I have continued to weld up the heater channels and some other minor areas. I have hung doors, hood, decklid to ensure that all fits properly before I start on the bodywork. The pix attached will show the progress to this point. I have also done my first sprayout of colour to see if it was what I am after
