How To Select A Cam &...

Hey Guys
Im woundering How Should I select a Cam for my Motor..
I have a 1835cc
Due Dell 34's(45's By Summers End)
CB 041 Heads
It has a Egl 110 in it now..
What is the 1st thing i need to look at before buying a new cam..
Also Looking to Add Some Pauter roller rockers How Do I match this up with what Im getting..
I want to do it all at 1 time..
Full Flow,Cam,Rockers,Carbs... & ?¿?¿
what else should I look at?

i like to have some more info. is it a daily driver or just for fun or a full race car and where would you have the most power low-mid or high.

Hey Peter
I plan on driving to shows & Hit some Twisties..
Im not sure if I can Say it right..
I may just keep making it Bigger & Bigger Till I dont have much left..
I will be driving the Bug for a few yrs But will Go Race Ready After I get My Next GL project..

What Kinda Power Can I xpect from my 1835cc?
Would Like a Driveable But thats about it..
I like to Smoke My tires & Blaze the turns..
Need more info.. ¿

hi ....what sizes are you carbs and valves.....cause i had 2 1835cc motors.
one had (40 by 35.5 valves ) with 36 weber downdrafts and a engle 120 cam......and 2nd motor had same heads with 125 engle......
both went very well ....
125 made mor power on top....
120 cool allround cam..

so you u are a weekend driver. but where you want the most power.

if you install te 45 dell you are in the mid - high range rpm

if you want the most power in the mid range then you should take the E 110
and if you want the most power in the high range you should take the E 120

Be sure you DONT OVERCAM that would realy decrease hp and tork and longevity

Right on guys I still got some time before I get all my parts & service..
so I will try to drive my car a bit to see what I am looking for..

I would like to smoke tires & power out of turns..
I could go with Dell 40's or 45's
Im not much of a drag guy but it is fun..
long drives.. not sure yet..
Need to be more intutch with my car before I do a distance drive..

If you go with the 40 then you could get te E 110 but you will have low end power.

Thanks again for all the info..
I found an OLD Schooler Porsche guy & he will be helping me select the right stuff..
Looks like he is on the lines of what your saying..
40's the 110..
May find a non Egl cam that is kinda in the mid of the 110/120
He also dose custom grind so I will keep you posted..
