Can't live without a Dremel.
I'm anxious to se how they turn out. I really anxious because of the cost (CHEAP!!), and that fact that you wouldn't have to do any body work to make them fit! post some pics if you can! John

I'll have to see what I can find in my storage unit this weekend. I've got a very busy schedule this week. I have to house sit for my friend this week. Free homemade beer, 12.8% alcohol.:yummy: Free cable. Am I lucky or what. I'll see if I can get to the lights.

Sounds like you got it made man... what else could you ask for?
No hurries though, take time on this one, and it should turn out pretty nice. John

Hi!
I'm new to this forum, I was wondering, since you are talking about alternative headlamps, if you ever saw the Wizard Roadster with Mercedes headlights, pretty neat. I asked them if they sell the fenders for this conversion, they told me that they didn't but it's an easy conversion with minor bodywork. I attached a picture of the Vdub with those headlights. |

Frank: What class Mercedes are the headlights from? I would like to know, could you post a picture of the lights so we all can see what they look like?

Hi again
Sorry for the little inconvenient, I don't know why my first post did not have the picture of this conversion. Anyway, I'm sure you already seen this conversion, it was in a 1999 or 2000 edition of VW trends |

Boygenius: If you need more info, I can check out to find my VwTrends with the article on that green speedster. I remember it tells some info on the conversion and there are some good shots of the car. That conversion is one that I would really like to get on a beetle so I ask the company that did it but they only told me t it was a one off design they would not comercialize, they told me it was an easy modification. I also know they used fiberglass, these fenders are not steel.

Don't worry about finding the magazine. I'm a long way from having to worry about lights or fenders. My car is still in a thousand pieces.

Hi!
I checked in my old Vdub magazines and found the article. Unfortunatly, it is of no use, there is no info about the conversion at all. I just sent an e-mail to the company that did the conversion years ago to get info on the lamps, hardware needed and time involved in the making. I hope to get an answer soon. These lights are wicked! Frank |

Frank: Awesome man, I hope they give you some good info on this one, I could really use it... the lights are awesome. they would look extremely good on a beetle.

Hi guys
Bad news that really pissed me off!! A salesperson from Wizard roadsters, the company that made the mercedez headlight beetle told me that they never did that conversion and that I probably mixed them up with another company. The problem is, I went on their website and there is a picture of it in their background!!! What the %#@!$&^? I know that Wizard handed their sales to EZbug, some company in UK, That's probably why they answered me wrong. On the other hand, I found someone who actually has a Wizard roadster with the front Mercedez headlamps, I sent him an e-mail right away, asking him where the hell he got it. Hope this won't remain a mystery for too long Frank |
