Can I get a link to your photobucket or where you've been hosting photos? They aren't showing up for me in the thread

Nothing much to share besides some pictures. I am working on a rear spoiler design, trying to tie in the aggressive look of the front kamei spoiler into the rear. At one point I built a duckbill for the rear decklid but aesthetically i think its a bit much, so I have designed something for the rear window area shaped out of aluminum. I will most likely paint this satin black like some of the other components/front spoiler.
![]() ![]() About 17 years ago I took this picture in Gig Harbor Washington where I grew up. I had it printed and its lived in my house/apartments ever since. I wanted to redo the photo in current day- ![]() ![]() ![]()

nice craftmanship! and different than other designs of roof spoilers. I like it.
Are you going to color code it or leave it as is?

Figure I should post a short update on my car. I now have over 5000 miles on the car and enjoyed every one of them. Its been very good to me so far. Recently the car was featured in VWtrends magazine. Pretty cool to see the car in print and I can check that off the bucket list.
Currently I am contemplating a transaxle build. I bought an IRS rebuild manual and have been pouring over the weddle catalog. I would like to do a 3.44 ring and pinion because I run a smaller tire diameter and cruising at 70 with the 4.12 in the car currently is about 3700 rpm's. A LSD of some kind would also be nice. The subaru can take the abuse but its not very enjoyable. I do have a subaru transaxle as well but for the amount of money/modification required to my current setup I don't know if its worth it to change. ![]() ![]()

Lots of learning going on for me. I made the commitment to building a stout vw transaxle instead of going the subaru route. I just dont feel like re-fabricating everything that would move by the engine position changing. I have also read some interesting things regarding the durability of the flipped r&p setups due to them running in the opposite direction. I purchased a cheap used transmission and lucked out as most of the internals were in great condition. I elected to buy some fancy stuff, a new aluminum rhino case, a 3:44 r&p (should put me around 3000rpm @ 70mph due to my smaller tire size), a fancy side cover for the thrust side, and I have a Quaife differential on the way as I couldn't come up with an original zf lsd. I have had to make several tools including the shift fork jig because I prefer to torture myself over buying things. I also decided to re-bush the front carrier shift rod because they weren't quite tight enough. Its hard to find good info on rebuilding these units. To me its weird that there are so many scared people out there that wont even attempt rebuilding these themselves as in my opinion they are relatively simple. I should hold my tongue though as its not back in the car yet!
