coil over owners

are you happy with your coil overs? im looking for something better than stock performance. all of the info i read is that they are only marginaly better. do they give a smoother ride? i cant see why pay for such items when the performance isnt that much greater. am i completely wrong here? who uses them and what setup do you have?

The bigest advantage of coil overs is the ability to adjust ride height and change springs easily to suit conditions. Much easier than lowering/raising with the torsion bars or swaping out torsion bars to a different spring rate. Coil over springs can be had in progressive rates also, softer for the first inch or two of compression then stiffen up for more aggressive driving.

And it is also easy when you have to cut through the torsionhousing if you want to put an another tranny under your bug...
