Unhappy Trust No One

This is what happens when you trust someone in oncoming traffic. He didn't see the Explorer passing him, nor did I. This was my baby. :broken: :broken:

BTW..... Just put Koni coilovers and the wheels and tires on it 3 days ago. I can get the wheels re-trued and finished. Still have to see what's salvageable with the susp. Maybe Koni can re-build them. :broken:

That sucks, to say the least. I hope everything works out in the end for you.

Thanks fellas. Yeah it does suck. I'm more heartbroken than phisically hurt. Poor car. I've got a line on 2 others, so hopefully in a few weeks I'll be back in business. Sucks b/c the car needed nothing. Every part was gone over and new. This is probably the most enjoyable car I've ever had. Every car should be like a Rabbit GTI. Old School Rocks.

I am sorry to hear about that and to see those pictures.

Good that nobody got hurt. I hope for you that you will find another good Golf 1.

Yeah everything's cool. I've got a line on a few. Hopefully I can pick one up this weekend. This was my daily driver. It saw a few autocrosses. Car was perfect. 35,000 on rebuild. Didn't have collision, ironically my insurance payment was today and I was going to add collision. eh! Bug's on hold for about a month til I straighten this out..... no pun intended.

Yeah, the US spec Rabbits in '83 & '84 (not positive on the years) came with the squares. They were made in Westmoreland, Pennsylvania, USA. They are often referred to as the Westmoreland style grille. The early US models came with the single rounds. I'm looking for a single round red trimmed GTI grille. Hard to find. I'm going to look at another black, sunroof GTI tonight, but its an '83. I'll be back on the road soon I hope.

My former 1981 Pickup (Caddy elsewhere) was a Pennsylvania product with rectangle headlights -- and a cheesy pull-knob for the headlights. I still miss that car, though.
