Cylinder cracked!
Hello everyone,
I picked up my cylinders from the machine shop today, and noticed that one of them has a tiny crack on the "skirt" that slides into the case. It's 3/8" long about 180 degrees from the little cutout on the side of the cylinder. My question is should I be worried? I've already spent to much on this engine (both in time and money) but I don't really want to install it and have it let go and junk more internals. BTW they are stock 1800's bored out to 96mm. I'd be interested in any opinions... Thanks, Dave

Thats very typical. The shop bored them too fast and built up too much heat- I will guarantee it because I have done the same thing..
Toss that cylinder, its junk.
