LP to BJ beam swap on an oval for racing

Talking to some experienced racing chaps in the pub last night they suggestedf for racing i should look into installing a ball joint beam into my oval. now we knew its not going to fit straight in and the framehead will need 'amending' but as the advantages are plain to see (cheap, plenty of adjustment of camber and takes disc brakes easily) we are capable of doing it and have the tools, time and workshop space so no worries there, what i wanted to find out is......

has anyone done it before and can give a little advice?

ta!

Pretty straight forward, swap the pan head. I wouldn't try doing it with the body on the car, much easier to do with it off.

Might consider just swapping to an irs pan to get a better handling rear end to boot.

I'd have to agree. Seems it would be easier to find a good late model chassis and swap the body. It'd be a lot less hassle.
