Spare tire ?
I thought I would make this thread a little more generic.
What are you guys running the 5x130mm stud pattern using for a spare tire ? Please let me know where you are storing the spare and what mods you may have done to store it. I know I can only fit a 15x4.5 spare in my standard's spare tirewell. Sandeep |

Hello-
I went the el-cheapo route. I got an old 5-lug 356 rim (4.5x15) for $25 and put a 165 tire on it for $0. You could even put an original bias-ply tire on it and make it fit in a Ghia spare tire well (even 165 is too big for a Ghia's space). Take care,

What size spare do you need if you are running 993TT brakes?

I had saved a 4,5x15 Fuchs to use as a spare, but no model Fuchs (not even 16") fits my Brembo brakes on the front... So I left the spare out all together! Saves weigth too. After that I decide to put the battery in the front on the floor, so now a spare doesn't fit anymore anyway.
My cell phone is much lighter than a spare if I would ever got a flat tire (has never happened tho). Walter |

'Looks like a pink pug 1.9gti wheel to me!
Standard 944T spare' is it not? But what year? Can anyone confirm this will indeed fit in the 'well of a Super? I may have found one. Please? Matt (That is a pic from here awhile back) |

I have a question about a spare wheel, but I don't want to have to start a new thread...
I have CB dropped king/link discs up front and was wondering if anyone knows if a 5.5 x 15 space saver rim with a 165 from an old 911 will spin with out interfering with the caliper? My first thought is yes because they are vw parts and they aren't "big reds". Thanks |

My solution is a porsche 996 spare tyre. It's a inflatable type but fully inflated it will fit the sparetyre well very nice!!!!! Forgot to say it's a 17 inch rim.
