Right innerwing is almost done, only the marked pieces need some love.
Paul.

After the innerwing was done, it was time to start with the Porsche front beam.
Porsche sheetmetal underneed the spare wheel well When the car is finished it should not have rake. Now it has a 3,6deg rake, this is why the arm has to be 3,6deg. as well. Bend and shaped 3mm steel tacked in. The innerwing has to come out a bid to reinforce the a-arm mounting point. Paul.

As I told earlyer, I had to widen the innerwing a bit, so I had to try it with cardboard first.
When the cardboard fitted, I made it out of sheetmetal and welded it in. Then I tack welded the Porsche bracket in place. I just had to try the shockabsorber. Paul.

Thanks. After a lot of hours repairing invisible pieces, it is finally time to make some bigger steps.

there's a hole in the innerwing ;D. I am going for 6-7deg.caster, -1camber and 0 toe in/out.
Inside of the innerwing, not much space there. And ofcourse I needed to test a wheel. Paul.

Unfortunately I had to little space to move the spindle up n down. after some internet searching, I found out that the golf1 inserts will fit the Porsche strut and is 2" shorter. so I bought a used set to test fit.
if it fits I can shorten the complete strut by 2". Paul.

Point of no return (again)
I had planned to use more of the Porsche innerwing, but I did not have enough space. Now I only used the upper shockmount and made it 5cm higher. When I find the correct position I will weld it in the innerwing. Paul.

Finally did some work on VWrankenstein again.
Started working on the upper Shock mounts Took out the rubber, shortend the the Porsche mount and made a plate to close the underside of the Porsche mount. Test fit the bearing Busch Underplate fits like a glove. After some welding and grinding, I fitted the bearing. Looks pretty original. This bearing fits the Golf1 shocks perfectly Bottomview Paul.

Today again found some time for VWrankenstein.
To make sure there was enough space for wheel movement I bought Golf1 shocks. The Golf1 shock are about 5,5cm shorter. Here's the difference. Now the struts had to be shortend too. And again some trail fit. (I used the wrong (too big) wheels) Paul.

Cool last pic Paul! If your shocks turn out to be worn, I have a set of gas-filled Golf-1 shocks for you ;-)
