Cruise to dyno day

I am leaving Oakville at 7:45am on Saturday morning (the 18th) to head to the dyno day in Pickering. I have my truck and trailer, Ben's buggy, Marc's '61 vert, Alex's '70, who else is in? We will go QEW to 427 north, to the 401 and across the 401 to Pickering. If you are planning on joining in along the way let me know. No time for stopping, so call my cell and let me know where you are and I will tell you when to gas it to join in!!!
E-mail me at greg@tunedperfection.com for my address and cell number.

We are staying at Motel 6 on Saturday night as well.

Greg

thanks to lanner for helping to organinze the dyno day. it was great!

we dyno'd my daily driver westy and my customer jerome's also. very useful to put engines you have built on the dyno and see what they do. also pretty comical to see loaded campers with bike racks on the dyno. my bus made a bit over 70 RWHP and 93 lb-ft TQ. this is an engine i built 5 years ago to basic stock specs but with slightly higher compression ratio. the other westy did a bit better at 80HP and 113 TQ. the numbers compare favorably to the stockers 67 HP at the crank, especially considering the engines are stock displacement and built to last for at least 80K miles.

the one thing that i think anyone who put their ride on the dyno will feel is - i want more power! i want my exhaust to be able to melt a fender cover the way tunedperfections beast did. that was awesome. when i talked to darryl who was running the dyno, he said the most powerful engine he ever ran on there was 2,000 HP. having heard the 227 HP turbo beetle on there, i can't imagine what 2,000 HP must sound and feel like.

here is a feature on the event on the local durham website:
