Daily Driver??

This is apparently a DAILY DRIVER. Floor is 1" off the ground and the front beam is even lower. 17" BMW mags that dont rub. New Mini headlights and Fiat Brava rears. No Hydraulics!!

Well done Ollie, good to be different

Seems hard to believe that the sump doesn't hit in the rear and the beam in the front. My friend's '68 hits in the front sometimes and its definitely not that low. Rear tires probably don't last that long either with all of that neg. camber.

A friend of mine can tell you what happens if your frontbeam hits a bump in a corner at 80 km/h (50 mph?).
He had a short but very intimate relationship with a guardrail!
A bug looks the best when it is this low, but driving is a totally different chapter.
Its radical though!
How about those rearwheel bearings? You'll have to fit an oilpump between the gearbox and bearings to lubricate the bearings

Cheers,

Richard

Most likely a swingaxle. Pretty much unavoidable.

Cool looks but undriveable. Did you ever ride such a low beetle? For our roads it's an impossible beetle, just to ruin the suspension completely and make more cracks into an old car :silly: :silly: :silly: ! It's just fun, I think!
