super beetle front disk caliper bracket tech drawing needed
this might sounds petty to you, US folks, but down here in Romania is outrageously expensive to import such single parts as the caliper brackets
I have purchased a 1971 1300 DP Super Beetle - drum brakes; I intend to uprate its engine to 1600cm - so front brake disks are a must. I managed to get new stock vw brake discs, rebuilt stock vw calipers, new bearings, seals, hoses and I want to manufacture my own caliper brackets. Unfortunately I couldn't find any technical drawings that would help me to manufacture these brackets. There are other drawings on the net but they imply the use of exotic brake parts such as Citroen Visa calipers - I am not sure if they have the same mounting points as well as the same offset. Does anyone have such drawing? or willing to make some measurements on an actual part and draw them? I like the sturdiness of the following part - a safe design. http://www.i4putt.com/Herman/DiscImages/Image08.jpg Thank you!
