What colour???

I would like to know which colours do you prefer for your GL.

Please help me guys. Im desperate.
Tell me your opinion
1. repaint the same colour (stock)
2. paint it orange (without pearls)
3. reproduce the Porsche-Gulf colour scheme (sky blue with orange bits)
4. paint it orange and add blue fame stripes (seen on porche and its stunning)

any more ideas are welcome, although dark colours arent prefferred due to high ambient temps

Thanx a lot

Chris

personal opinions here of course...

i don't think the Gulf scheme would work on a SB.
i don't like the stock VW Orange.
other oranges just depend on what orange it is for me.

Porsche did have a very cool orange called oddly enough, Bahama Yellow. it was almost like a slightly burnt orange with yellow in it. that may be worth looking into.

i'm blanking on any other oranges i like.

VW's Jazz Blue is one of my current favorite colors. silver is cool too (mine is silver). to combine blue and silver, i like Porsche's Diamond Blue. VW's Dove Blue is also cool and a stock Bug color.

all time favorite color is Porsche's speed (or blood) yellow.

oh, Audi does have a new yellowy/orange out now on the TT VR6. look at that too.

If you are worried about the heat buildup from a dark paint why not just go with a bright white paint. Mine was white and it had tinted windows and it was never that hot inside even when it was 95 degrees outside. I was thinking of using porsche gaurds red for my car but know I have been thinking of the same heat absorbtion problem that dark colors have. But the colors I like are red, white, blue, green, silver, and black.

I think every one has asked this question at least once?
I know i have. When really it comes down to what YOU think looks hot and what you like the most, as your the one owning it and driving it.

My advice is to think of a color that best descibes the "attitude" you want to give off. For instance, on my super beetle i want a sexy yet aggresive look. and for me this would be black (or a dark blue).

But like ZEN said about the new Audi tt color... you should totaly look into it, you might verywell like it. Its a hot color i think.
My father works at the local Audi, Porsche, VW, BMW dealership so i get to scope out all the new cars and such on a daily basis and that color really cought my eye when i saw it, and i totaly loved it.

Later,
Jonathan

NEVER judge colors by your monitor. they are ALWAYS wrong. go to the dealer or a paint shop for chips and take them outside. do NOT look at them under flourescent light.

that said, here is a pic of the TT. it is much more yellow here than in real life.

If you really want orange you could look into Scion's xB Release Series Orange: http://www.scion.com/xb_release_series/gallery.html

That is a link to the website. I guess its supposed to be the brightest orange put on a car. I have a friend in TX that had a bug (Which unfortunatly met a wall pretty hard), anyway, he got one of thsoe, in the Release series, and the color is extremly orange

Here's an idea. That scion orange, which is awesome, carbon fiber bits (if used) in a dark, dark grey, then cobalt/obsidian(shiny dark black) badging and trim like on some of the newer toyotas/nissans.

You can get the trim done is black chrome plating (seems like an oxymoron), but it does exist!

That would set it apart than just painted or powder-coated.

I like that scion orange, or how about that 350Z burnt orange color...

Very nice color. Have you looked at the price of that type of paint. I think a paint job with that type of paint can cost upwards of 6K...
