THE HELL's That Sound??
Hey Guys
I went to get my Dell40's today man are they nice.. But it the tuning session we ran into a few problems.. 1) The manifold wont seem to seal 2) when the motor was running it just started knocking back.. like shut that thing off bad.. I looked under the car all was well it was a steddy knock that sounds very matalic.. The first thing that we will check tomorrow it the valves, then the heads.. Any idea's.. I dont think its a bolt or washer that fell in cuz all parts were acounted for when removed.. Peace Troy Pic#1) Left Carb --Pic#2) Right Carb & Val Stack--Pic#3)Tin rubbing Manifold Youcan see the burn..

what i did to make my manifolds seal was to file the bottoms of the manifold.
I chucked the manifold into my bench vise and proceeded with a long flat file until I had covered the entire sealing surface of the manifold. this cured my intake leak problems. Remember: dont file too long in one place, and try to file on one axis (if that makes sense). |
