Talking Another horse in the barn.

Gentlemen, I have just procured for myself a 1973 1303 Sport Bug
with the rare original steering wheel, and seats. No engine, or transmission, beat down interior, and SOLID pans, just like I wanted!

Got my wheels; 17x7, and 17x8.5 996 Twisties.

Got my brakes; 83 944 n/a, plus front spindles, Kerscher joints, and rear control arms (thanks John!)

Got my gearbox; 914/901, ready to go.

Gettin' my motor together; 2270 with 96mm Nickies, and a DTM.

Gonna build my own dash from an original 1303 piece.

Got mad ideas for the shift rod from NO_H2O (Dave, I found a square chunk of aluminum that's PERFECT)

I hope to have it ready for an official "VKG Tire Kickin" by the Taccoa show next year.

Now I gotta save up for Christmas...

It sounds nice man, I wish my project would go that quick...

BTW what kinda stick shift are you talking about?
I trying to find one that is unique in it's own way, even if I have to by one.... I can't wait to see you ride done!

Its gonna be a double cardigan, four suport bushing, three piece shift rod so it won't have to make the "S" bend.

I actually don't have the car at home yet. I've only paid the man for it. He's got to get the title square.

Glad you liked my idea. A friend of mine just told me he is parting out a 73 1303, so if you need any stock parts let me know. It has a dent in the panel behind the door and he found another 1303 and thought that it would be better to part one out that try to fix it (door post is bent).

Dave, I'll take the windshield if it's not cracked.
