It was good to meet you Johnntvee. I had to get a pic of you prepping your fine ride for the judges. My hat is off to you for a great looking car.

Haha, the fisheye photo in the one pic makes one car look like a curved-screen oval.

Great job everyone. Congrats to Nigel. I'll look at the pics my work computer is blocking when I get home.

I'll be coming to shows once I get a ride again. I have been snooping around a little but stopped really looking in earnest since August. I'm starting to warm up to a few possibilities and will beat the bushes again soon.

Well, it was originally because I have been getting a nasty thump when hitting certain bumps and indications were that my front tranny mount was shot. An engine and tranny removal later indicates that it is perfectly fine. so goes my history with this car.

I have been wanting to swap gearing anyway, so it isn't a total wash, but I am left not knowing what the hell is making that very bad sound. I am now suspecting the rear tranny bolts as one was not too tough to get off. I am going to recheck my spring plates as well.

Several other plans for the car while it is back apart again. Hopeful to have it on the road in a couple of months.

Sorry I missed this show. Looks like it was fun and some good weather. I WILL see you at some other shows this year though.

Zen, while you have the drive train out, check your trailing arms out. I remember sometime ago someone on here (maybe you?) being instructed to place both the spacer's at the pivot bolt on the OUTSIDE of the arm. After bolting everything up like this I flipped the car on its side (rotisserie's are SO nice ) and noticed the spring plates being drawn in to connect to the arms. This made the two bolt heads for camber and height adjustments on the 944 spring plates rub the shock towers. I then swapped the spacer's to the INSIDE and got a better alignment for bolting to the arms, and gave some more clearence for the springplate bolts. This is just something to check for the noise you're hearing maybe. Although the trans cradle bolt loose could be it... just something else to check while your under there.

I remember looking under your car as you loaded the clutch to check the front mount and the transaxle DID rock up at the forward end much like a broken fwd trans mount. Maybe the rubber is a bit week. I would replace it and get a mid-mount.
