Judgie, Jake always uses the type1 oil relief setup on his engines ( spring and plunger i think ). What are you using for oil relief valve and spring.

Did you guys figure out your pressure problems yet? I'm having a similar problem. I loose pressure on my 2056 when oil gets over 180 degrees. It's dropping below 10 lbs at idle and the idiot light comes on. I have tried all kinds of pressure relief pistons, springs, 2 different pumps, and I resurfaced the pressure relief seat. Still the same results. The only thing I can think of is that the pump slid in pretty easy. I think it may be sucking air from around the pump bore.

Hey Mark, do you have an o-ring on your berg pump? I was going to try that next.

There have been other people having this problem on STF with both T1 and T4. Seem a bit wierd.

i had this problem on a t1 ,as far as i was aware the spring and plunger only operates when the oil is cold to stop mad pressure ie to relief the pressure when it is hot it should not operate unless the oil gets above 60-80 psi which is unlikley , my problem was solved buy altering the oil pressure switch position on the t piece out of the engine block , i put it at right angles to the block instead of straight on dont ask me why but it worked
cheers jon
