993Turbo Calipers on 944T Rotors?

I have access to a real nice set of 993T calipers and was told that
these would work on 944T rotors. Is this true?

If it is the case, then I will be able to use these calipers on my75 Super.
I was going to have VDub Customs modify the 944T hub to work with my
spindles and use 944T Calipers, but would love to use the 993T if possible.

I'm assuming you are using these for the front ... only if the 944T rotors are from the Turbo S (AKA 928S4 rotors) 302mm x 32mm ... its the 32mm thickness you are looking for as the 993T front calipers work with a 32mm thick rotor.

Any less and the pistons may overextend as you brake when the pads are almost worn out, risking dropping the pads out of the caliper

The 993T front pads will not fit the S4 rotors well .. there will be pad 'overhang'. I suggest biting the bullet and getting a set of matching rotors

so i take it i can use my set of 928 GTS brakes and calipers on my 944T carriers/hubs from a 944s2...

sandeep are you going to run a part 2 to your sexy brake mods??

and i did read in a old thread that you used custom carriers but had to space them out a bit or tried the original rotors and they fitted well..

do i take it that i can use the original rotors???

chris

cheers in advance

Chris,

No time right now to write the article .. 2 kids are keeping me busy

The original 'Hats' that come on the 993TT rotors give the wheels more less offset (5mm) than the ones I had machined .. sold those for what I paid for them. I needed the offset decrease so my wheels would not rub on the lower trailing arm at full lock.

You can use the original rotors but fit everything before you see a machinist !

Sandeep, reread what you wrote.... you said "more less offset"
so is it more offset or less offset?
5mm decrease in front track width or 5mm increase in front track width?

Also, will the 993 rotors work on the 944T hubs?
