porsche heads

I'm lucky to have aquired a set of porsche 914 2.0L heads that have been rebuilt

I have an idea that they are more delicate than regular type 4 heads and therefore shouldnt be put in a bus

is there any reason they shouldnt be put on a bus engine?

I would not say they are more delicate. The problem with bus engines is the extra wieght and poor cooling tend to overheat the heads. Leading to dropped seats, If you are going to use a good cooling system (DTM) you will have no worries, This is very superficial info, alot of other factors play into a hot motor, like cam choice for one.

In fact bus head are usually worthless, because of the hard life they live, while porsche heads have a much better (easier) life. All tend to have cracks around the sparkplug holes, but porsche heads are what most rebuilders will only work with.

But back to you question, You could use those heads no problem. Are they 100% rebuilt or what? Good luck JR
