1.8 heads on 2.0 litre engine

I might have gotten confused. Did I read a while back that heads from a 1.8 are interchangeable onto a 2.0 engine? Is that right? If true, what are disadvantages?
Thanks-

from my understanding yes they are interchangable, but the only advantage is that the 1.8 heads have bigger valves then the bus 2.0 heads. If you have 914 2.0 I would stay with those because they have the biggest valves of all T4 heads.

The 1.8 FI heads have the same size valves as the rest of the FI heads. The carbed 1.8 heads have 1mm larger valves. The combustion chamber shape also is different.

Good Luck
