porsche 996 rear suspension!!
i saw the blue bus in hotvws with porsche 996 rear suspension and i just thought it was really awsome ..... how woudl i go about doing this type of conversion with my bug?i was goin to buy this rusty 69 irs pan and put 944rear trailing arms on it , but since ive seen that bus ive really wanted to do soemthin like that . should i not buy the irs pan and do the 996 conversion (i have some extra time n money). i was thinkin about putting 996 rear suspension and having boltson.com build a street a arm kit for my ultimate vw chassis project.

that bus was build around a custom chassis.
your IRS pan would probably be not work with the 996 suspension. it would be better to have a chassis shop build you a custom chassis around the 996 suspension

you think it woudl work if i based it on a vw chassis but made it alot more stable and sorta make a tube frame around it

That bus was built using an aluminum space frame like racecars use. You wouldn't have do do that even though its probably one of the best setups. You could do it with your tube frame idea but it would need to be pretty elaborate and youd have to do a lot of cutting on your pan and body and a lot ofcustom mods to the porsche suspension itself.
