ok so no ones got any ideas? guess i'll just have to find out the hard way, well ive modifided the plemum to fit a bigger throttle body, may help, stock one looks way small. air flow meter may be next restriction, seen bmw e30s use same type, may be bigger, definetly gonna fit high ratio rockers, not sure if 1.4s are gonna be better than 1.25s for the money? any input much apprecated. gonna be moving the engine/gearbox forward by reversing the mounting cradle and making my own front mount, simalar to mid mount, but may need a rear mount like was on vanagon. not huge power but engine must weigh more. also will hopefully end up turboing it but wanna sort out cooling and fuel system first. wish me luck.

I fitted one to 1302 a while ago, made good power, 1st with IDAs, then after martket EFI and later on a turbo. You can read about here http://www.clubvw.org.au/steve.htm Steve

Thanks guys. Yeh steve read and re read about your 1302 a few times great car, but 1303 sti is gonna put that to shame, was thinking bout subaru power before but added up all bits i'd need and way over my budget, done a few engine swaps before but first in a bug so thought i'd try this first, gotta find a banger for a few months to swap all my bits over as as well as engine i have 944 brakes/ wheels, fibreglass wings and golf struts modded for coil overs all sat in garage. Should only take a couple of weekends. lol.
