Noob as f@*k

Hi there,
I'm finishing a 73 super that someone got bored with and I found this site with all your killer looking rides. She's completely stock just now but the plan is a T4 in the back (my girlfiend has one in the garage ) with Boxter wheels. I got 40mm lower springs for the front to go on stock struts, but from what I read here they won't be much use. If I use the boxters will I need narrow struts? The wheels are 17x7.5 et55. Also can I get away with stock brakes until such time as I can get Porsche stoppers?
Thanks in advance for any help you can give.
ps
Here's an Idea of what I'm aspiring to

Welcome to the Germanlook world (get out your wallet ). For now you could get your drums redrilled for 5x130 pattern, or buy some from Cip1, and other VW vendors. I would not trust wheel adaptors (before you ask). You will need to check out www.topline.com for info on MAXX strut assy. for front wheel clearence. They may have the drums for front and rear also .

Thanks Wrench, I figured it won't be cheap but I lurv scrapyards! I was told by CoolAir VW that there are struts available from a german company too, but they can't remember the name. Would narrowed springs from Topline do for the time being ( cos the wheels are going to empty the bank account till after xmas)......maybe I should move this to the suspension section )

hey. well if your gonna convert to late beetle suspension, you could use, mk1 golf struts, two inchs shorter than beetle and have camber ajustment. jus need to cut off spring platform and weld on coil over conversion kit. rally design sell em, pretty cheap too. then you can use 2 1/4" springs and have loads of room for ya wheels

hey! that car looks very familiar. i used maxx from topline.the kerscher look like they have more adjustment.they also look easy to adjust in the pics ive seen.the only reason they are expensive is b/c of shipping.in europe they may not be all that bad over there.there are no distributors in the states for kerscher that i know of.
