Exclamation Europa Front Bumper Impact Strip

Want three-piece black rubber impact strip for 68-74 bug front bumper with turn signals. There are two outer strips (113 807 225 B) and one middle strip (113 807 221 B) which are secured to the bumper with clips (171 807 249 A).

The on-line sources I've tried are out of the middle section which is now reportedly obsolete. The rear section is also obsolete, so no luck with a modified solution.

Please help me find a good set.

Thank you,
Bill

I've found out that the tool for the middle section is broken. The manufacturer is going to fix it "soon" as there is a big order for them. I'll post again when I find out more. The bummer is that these are spendy -- about $150 USD for full set. Does anyone have a lead on some good used ones?

I got my complete set when I was over in Europe back in 1995 and they were quite expensive. These are NLA but you might have luck with some UK resellers. Lastly, the 171 part number is a Golf I (Rabbit) and those clips might still be had from the local dealer.

I got a good used center section for $30 euro plus new end pcs from Marco at www.kaeferland.com. The clips are available in the US, but kaeferland had them for half the cost.

That's too bad the impact strips are so expensive and hard to come by because they look really good. I would love a set.

In case anyone is still looking for these (strips), MA motorworks has these listed in their new catalog for $90.

Why are they listed for only 74-77 Std. and 74-79 Supers? The front bumper with the turn signals in them (looks liks Bill's) is listed for for Stds and Supers up to 73.

Was there a large change in the bumpers from 73 to 74 or will they work together (goof-up by MA)?
