57 Speedster info needed.

Aloha all you mugs,

Looking for some information on which year of bug to buy as a platform to build a '57 Speedster? Also is there anyplace out there that just deals is NOS Chassis?

C mon guys take a look at thw wanted forum !!

Any year will fit but I recommend you to get a 1969+ with IRS rear end (NOT from a 1302/1303) as they have macpherson front suspension and DON'T FIT.www.btlmex.com has brand new (2002) ! complete chassis for 500 US $...

It would be worth checking on your local licensing laws first adn your future plans for modifications. Law may restrict you to a stock engine if it is a brand new car etc etc
I'd go for IRS, torsion beam for an easy build. Otherwise I think I'd have a go at using a super pan and making a frame for the top mounts of the struts for improved handling...
