which irs tranny to use
im going to put in an 1800cc type 4 that i just had rebuilt into my 62 singlecab. my single has already been converted to irs and currently has a bug tranny in it, but it is almost on its last leg. im putting this engine in because i want to use the singlecab to pull bugs on a towbar, and to tow my bug to the track and back.
so my question is if i should stick with a late model bug tranny, a irs type 3 tranny or maby i should put a baywindow transaxel in it. what would give me low end grunt but still not rev high on the freeway when im not towing anything? perhaps a custom built transaxel? thanks for any info -Carl |
