will 944 drive shafts...
Ok, so i have all the 944 brakes bolted up, i have the 944 stub axles, and i have some 944 drive shafts that i want to use (100mm CV joints). i noticed the 944 axles i have are a little shorter (maybe 1/2 inch) than the stock drive shafts. Will this be a problem? I assume the type 181 (VW Thing) output flanges are the ticket to doing this swap?
The only concerns i had was the length of the 944 driveshafts i have. Thanks! Jonathan |

I had a set of type 181 drive flanges and they stuck out farther than the type 1 drive flanges by about 1/2" to 3/4" so you should be fine. I 'm not 100% certian about the distance but maybe someone that has a set laying around could measure them for you.
