Aluminum front beam.

Anybody ever thought of making an aluminum front beam for ball joint front suspension. They are made for link pin front ends. I just weighed my front beam with trailing arms and it was 69 lbs. If that could be dropped to 36 lbs that would be a pretty good weight savings. I just think about this everytime I have to move my front end around my garage. I know it is taking weight away from the end where it is needed most but what do you guys think.

Well,
Considering that almost all the weight is in the rear of a type one to begin with, any loss of weight in the front could result in uncontrolled freeway wheelies (can anyone say SB?lol). Not good, especially the ones involving oncoming traffic. The type one is already very light weight for a car.
Simply working on the the things that make her go, turn, and stop better is what I would work on. If not beefing somethings up even more!
